Position Summary:
The
Junior Designer plays a key role in creating visual content that brings Giant's brand and communications to life. This position supports internal and external design needs from digital assets and social graphics to in-store signage and presentations ensuring all creative reflects our brand standards and purpose.
You'll collaborate closely with the creative and marketing teams to execute materials that inform, inspire, and engage. This role is ideal for a designer who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their craft within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Creative Design & Production
- Design and produce materials across print, digital, social, and in-store platforms
- Work within established brand templates and layouts to produce accurate, on-brand creative
- Create, proof, and finalize in-store item/price signs, tags, and digital screens derived from marketing circulars
- Adapt templated creative for use across social media, email, and internal channels
- Recommend small design or layout adjustments to enhance visual appeal while maintaining brand consistency
- Prepare final production files for print and digital delivery, ensuring accuracy and quality
- Assist with light photo retouching, simple animation, and production support tasks
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with senior designers, copywriters, and marketing managers to bring campaigns to life
- Maintain design consistency and accuracy across all tactics and channels
- Communicate proactively with internal partners on project timelines, deliverables, and feedback
Process & Organization
- Manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail
- Follow established workflows for versioning, file management, and proofing
- Support template updates and system enhancements that improve design efficiency
- Ensure all creative aligns with Giant's brand standards and marketing briefs
What You Will Bring:
- 1-3 years of professional graphic design experience (agency or in-house)
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; After Effects a plus)
- Understanding of layout, typography, and production methods for both print and digital
- Experience creating templated assets and working within data-driven design systems; familiarity with Workfront or similar project-management tools a plus
- Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Portfolio showcasing creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail
Salary: $68,325 - $91,000
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable law. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Headquarters in Hyattsville, MD.
