Chief Executive Officer (Behavioral Health and Residential Services)
Overview:
Our client, a growing provider of behavioral health services including inpatient and outpatient care for adolescents and adults, seeks a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its next phase of strategic growth and operational excellence. The organization operates a network of residential and community-based programs serving individuals with complex behavioral health and trauma-related needs, including substance-use disorders.
The CEO will set organizational vision, drive culture, ensure quality and compliance across all programs, and build upon a culture that integrates clinical excellence with operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all programs across the behavioral health continuum, ensuring consistent quality and mission alignment.
- Lead and mentor the senior management team overseeing clinical, operational, and financial functions.
- Partner with the Board of Directors to shape and execute growth, sustainability, and service-expansion strategies.
- Oversee all residential and outpatient operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Maintain close collaboration with clinical leadership to align operational systems with high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.
- Develop and sustain relationships with public agencies, managed-care organizations, and community partners that influence access, referral flow, and reimbursement.
- Promote a professional culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and compassion.
- Support innovation in program design, quality measurement, and data-driven decision-making.
- Serve as the organization’s public representative to stakeholders, funders, and the behavioral-health community.
Qualifications
- Proven executive-level leadership within behavioral health, healthcare, or human-services organizations (you've built programs and organizations in the behavioral space)..
- Experience overseeing multi-site programs with a focus on residential or inpatient behavioral health, including youth and adult populations.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behavioral-health treatment models.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through growth or organizational change while maintaining clinical quality and compliance.
- Skilled in building partnerships with external agencies, regulators, and managed-care organizations.
- Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, reimbursement structures, and operational performance management.
- Collaborative leadership approach with the capacity to align diverse stakeholders around shared goals.
