Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team of experienced industry leaders in an early stage start-up. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing mechanical wet chemical equipment systems such as Manual and Semi-automated wet chemical equipment for silicon wafer processing using advanced CAD tools and engineering principles. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a growing industry involving system design, manufacturing processes, and compliance with industry standards. The successful applicant will contribute to the full lifecycle of product development, from conceptualization through detailed design and testing, ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with project goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs and schematics utilizing CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and LabVIEW to validate design integrity.
- Create and review technical drawings in accordance with GD&T standards and ASME codes & standards.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and software components, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Arduino, and system design considerations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for mechanical failures or performance issues, proposing effective solutions.
- Manage project scheduling to ensure timely delivery of design milestones while maintaining quality standards.
- Develop manufacturing documentation, including schematics, drafting, and process specifications for CNC machining and other fabrication methods.
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities within laboratory or manufacturing environments.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Proven experience with mechanical design using CAD software such as SolidWorks .
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles, ASME codes & standards, and manufacturing processes including CNC machining.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, schematics development, and system design integration.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively in complex systems environments.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines. Pay: $87,206.09 - $105,022.39 per year
