Job Overview – Chemical Engineer (Powder Manufacturing)
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Chemical Engineer with a strong background in powder formulation, blending, and process optimization. This role is critical to ensuring our powder-based products meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards (FDA, CGMP). The ideal candidate will lead efforts to develop, scale, and refine powder processing technologies used in health, wellness, and beauty manufacturing. This position involves hands-on collaboration across production, R&D, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in a high-volume, GMP-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and optimize powder manufacturing processes including blending, sieving, filling, and dust control systems.
Select and integrate powder-handling equipment such as ribbon blenders, cone mills, fluidized bed dryers, and vacuum transfer systems.
Lead process validation and scale-up efforts from lab to production scale for new powder formulations.
Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to troubleshoot batch issues and implement process improvements.
Develop AutoCAD layouts for powder processing lines ensuring ergonomic flow and containment best practices.
Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste, minimize batch variation, and improve yield.
Oversee dust mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with OSHA combustible dust standards.
Manage integration of PLCs and control systems to automate blending and batch tracking.
Conduct lab-based formulation and stability testing of powder products under CGMP guidelines.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for FDA audits, process validations, and equipment qualification.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering; Master’s a plus.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in powder manufacturing, preferably in nutraceuticals, cosmetics, or pharmaceuticals.
Strong understanding of CGMP, FDA, and safety compliance related to powdered substances.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, PLC systems, and process data analysis tools.
Demonstrated success in scaling powder processes from bench to production scale.
Hands-on experience with material flow, bulk density analysis, and segregation prevention in powder systems.
Strong technical writing skills for SOPs, validation protocols, and regulatory submissions.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
