Job Description
This person will be part of a dedicated NY Bank Relations team, responsible for managing and developing banking relationships across global markets. In line with the diverse markets and products in which Jefferies is present, external working relationships cover a broad range of banks. Internally, the successful candidate will work extensively with an SVP in Bank Relations, across various teams within the Firm, including Treasury, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Front and Middle Office Business Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of bank and custodial relationships, including credit and operational services; approximately 60+ banking relationships and 1,500+ bank accounts (cash and securities)
- Managing the account opening and setup process externally as well as internally, completing bank required forms, KYC requirements and negotiation of legal agreements
- Compilation and analysis of MIS reports to assess competitiveness of bank / custodian fees, periodic negotiation of bank fees and review / remedy of operational inefficiencies
- Ongoing maintenance of authorized signatory lists, resolutions and associated corporate documentation
- Primary internal contact for escalation of bank and/or custodian issues
- Assisting in the completion of new credit related documentation and associated follow ups with business units and banks
- Participation in Bank Relations & Network Management projects including new business initiatives, credit marketing and analytical analysis
- Assist in the procurement and monitoring of the firm’s various insurance policies, including Global Property, Workers’ Compensation, D&O, Crime/FI Bond, Professional Liability, Cybersecurity and other Commercial Coverages.
- Assist in the business management of the Credit Rating Agencies (i.e. S&P, Moody’s, Fitch).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous Treasury experience (1-3 years) - Preferably at a financial institution
- Cash management and treasury operational experience preferred
- Quick Learner and Good Listener - Ability to consume and process a significant amount of information, assess the impact, then summarise and disseminate that information quickly and effectively to key internal stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills as the role requires interaction with all levels of the organization; both internally and externally
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Understand the key business drivers, operational risks and efficiency expectations of a broker dealer
- Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving and facilitation skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight deadlines
- Well organized, attention to detail
- Strong audit and control mindset
- Ability to effectively use Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with online banking platforms and SWIFT
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $80,000- $100,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
