Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager

A growing advanced manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, materials planning, and vendor management across U.S. and international operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume environment and enjoys building structure, improving processes, and ensuring reliable material flow—especially around electronics components and other complex assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing and materials planning to ensure timely, cost-effective supply of raw materials, electronics components, and production parts.
- Lead and develop a small team of buyers/planners.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and finance to support production schedules and product launches.
- Manage and negotiate with suppliers; strengthen vendor performance and contract terms.
- Improve ERP/MRP usage (NetSuite preferred) to enhance planning accuracy and visibility.
- Drive cost-savings, inventory optimization, and continuous improvement across U.S. and U.K. sites.
- Support new product introductions with smooth material readiness and transitions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, or materials management within manufacturing; electronics components sourcing experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years leading or supervising a small team.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and systems-improvement skills.
- ERP/MRP experience; NetSuite a plus.
