Job Description:
This position reports to the Electrical Platforms Systems manager under the Air Dominance division. This position requires someone that is inspiring and self-motivated with exceptional people skills and leadership abilities. F/A-18 Engineering is a people first, customer focused organization and the ability to build strong customer relationships while driving execution is a must.
Looking for a dynamic person that is ready to take on challenging work and provide guidance and support to the team. This role requires working closely with F/A-18 Retrofit, United States Navy and with other Company teams in the F/A-18 Sustainment Engineering and Support Systems teams. Areas of execution will include designing the wiring bundles for the F/A-18 E/F/G airplane models to support production and retrofit changes, mentor less experienced wire design engineers, and work with internal and external teams.
Position Responsibilities:
- Communicating across various teams and functions, fostering collaboration and building consensus.
- Mentor less experienced wire design engineers.
- Develop System Wire Diagrams for F/A-18 production and retrofit projects in Siemens Mentor Graphics.
- Working in a team environment and under minimal direction.
- Functional engineering, integration, and issue resolution.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Berkeley, MO facility.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
•9+ years of work-related experience with Bachelor’s OR 7+ years of work-related experience with Masters OR 4+ years with a PhD
- 5+ years’ experience developing wiring harnesses designs using Siemens Mentor Graphics.
- Familiarity with hardware-software airplane level integration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering and scientific principles; the ability to apply this knowledge to develop, design, analyze, test, integrate, and validate solutions for wire harness and interconnect systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 7+ years’ experience developing wiring harnesses designs using Siemens Mentor Graphics.
- 7+ years’ experience in airplane level subsystems development and integration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with USN Technical Orders
Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
