Role Summary
Airsys is seeking a Junior Industrial Engineer to support R&D facility planning, engineering projects, and operational efficiency initiatives. This role focuses on factory and lab layout design, project-related procurement support, and inventory management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced engineering and operations environment supporting advanced cooling technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Facility & Layout Planning
- Support facility, factory, and laboratory layout planning and space utilization efforts
- Assist with equipment placement, workflow design, and optimization
- Create, update, and maintain layout drawings using CAD tools (DraftSight, AutoCAD, or similar)
Project Procurement Support
- Assist with project-related purchasing activities, including BOM preparation
- Support PO creation, order tracking, and vendor coordination
- Track equipment and material delivery status for engineering and R&D projects
Inventory & Operations Support
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support regular inventory audits
- Assist with material tracking, usage analysis, and basic inventory optimization
- Identify excess, slow-moving, or critical inventory items and support corrective actions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, lab, operations, and finance teams
- Support project documentation, reporting, and data tracking
- Perform additional operational or engineering support tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience accepted)
- Basic understanding of industrial engineering principles and workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization, tracking)
- Ability to read, interpret, and update basic CAD/layout drawings
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in facility, lab, or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP tools
- Experience supporting engineering, R&D, or capital projects
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or basic process optimization methodologies
