The engineering group designs, creates and validates the technical engineering specifications necessary to guide our production teams to manufacture quality industry leading homes and components for our customers in accordance with industry practices as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
The Project Engineer is responsible for guiding, coordinating and recommending systems solutions and technical engineering applications to optimize manufacturing construction, material usage, and labor efficiencies. Their goal is continuous improvement and refinement of an optimized balance of faster, cheaper, safer, higher quality manufacturing processes and outcomes.
Generally, the position does not require a degree, but does require extensive experience in manufacturing and engineering analysis. He/she works independently on complex efforts, executing process steps, conducting analysis, problem solving, and delivering recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs, coordinates, and functionally heads planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
- Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.
- Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing, in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff.
- Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Directs integration of technical activities and products.
- Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Develop product ideas based on customer interests and requests.
- Identify customer problems and create functional prototypes offering a solution
- Coordinate prototype submissions with relevant personnel for approval
- Perform market analysis on competing products and brands
- Analyze market and industry trends and conditions
- Analyze feasibility, cost, and return on investment for product ideas
- Manage the budget requirements for projects
- Oversee the mass production of successful prototypes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline
- Masters preferred
- 2 - 4 years of related experience
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of home construction.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
