Project Designer / Specifier

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a commercial furniture designer/specifier
Proficient in CET, Spec or CAP, and Microsoft 365 Products
Knowledge of Haworth furniture preferred but not required
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Detail oriented with a keen eye for design aesthetics and functionality
Collaborative mindset with focus on delivering exceptional customer service
Key Responsibilities
Space Planning: Utilize CET software and other design tools to develop comprehensive space plans that optimize the layout of furniture within commercial spaces.
Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their specific requirements, preferences, and budget constraints. Offer expert advice on space utilization, furniture selection, and design aesthetics to create customized solutions aligned with client goals.
Design Development: Translate conceptual design ideas into detailed floor plans, 3D renderings, and presentations for client review and approval. Incorporate feedback and revisions to refine designs until client satisfaction is achieved.
Furniture Specification: Recommend appropriate furniture products based on client needs. Create furniture specifications for pricing considering factors such as style and budget. Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to source furniture items that meet project requirements.
Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and furniture standards to ensure compliance and best practices in space planning and design.
Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with clients, architects, interior designers, and furniture vendors to enhance collaboration and project outcomes. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
