Thalle is currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to fill a Structural Engineer position on a $375M (+) USACE Lock and Dam project located on scenic Kentucky Lake in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

Job Title: Structural Engineer
Salary: Competitive compensation package based on experience.
Overview:
The Structural Engineer is part of the Quality Control Program and is responsible for ensuring structural components involved in the construction of the project are in compliance with the contract requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proficient in interpretating information from heavy civil construction plans and specifications.
- Perform structural evaluation of formwork systems for mass concrete placements.
- Evaluate suitability of field fit changes to typical formwork assembly.
- Perform pre-placement inspections to evaluate steel reinforcement, formwork and embedded metals meet the requirements prior to concrete placement.
- Provide daily reporting to the Quality Control Manager.
- Attend coordination meetings with the Production and Quality Control teams to align efforts and needs with work schedule.
- Generate and transmit submittals required for demonstration of compliance to the project specifications for component installation and performance.
- Preparation of written work plans for site specific construction activities.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Graduate Civil Engineer with 5 years experience in mass concrete placement.
- Civil engineering education and experience should demonstrate structural focus and knowledge.
- Prior experience with system and shop built formwork design and installation is a preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work with a fast-paced team in an aggressive construction environment.
- Subject to background check and drug testing.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times present a demanding terrain including, but not limited to climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.
