Summary
The EA Creative Department is looking for a graphic designer to join the team for a 3 month summer internship! The designer must possess the ability to design for a wide range of projects that include logo and identity design, web design, presentations and layout, large-scale environmentals, various print collateral, digital content and animation. This is a paid opportunity, and eligible for applicable college credit.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting all areas of design from conception to completion as required for a multitude of project types as listed above.
- Highly collaborative designer who works closely with and under the guidance of Graphic Designers, Art Directors & Creative Directors.
- Maintains high skill levels in software programs required to perform assigned job functions.
- Assists in archiving and maintaining digital files, project hard copies, photography, illustrations, logo art, typestyles, historical collateral samples, and other client materials and resources.
- Monitors, understands and shares the latest design trends.
- Promotes superior file management and organizational methodology following department guidelines.
- Reports to the Senior Graphic Designer and/or Art Director.
Qualifications:
- 0-1 years of experience
- Pursuing a BA or equivalent in design-focused major (graphic design, fine arts, advertising).
- High proficiency in:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign, After Effects)
- Apple Keynote & Microsoft Powerpoint
- Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets)
- A portfolio of design samples that demonstrate applicable spec work.
- Strong conceptual abilities (developing ideas/concepts individually and as part of a team).
- Ability to properly setup files for print based on vendor specifications/needs.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once, designing for a wide range of brands, audiences and industries.
- Comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong active listening skills — the ability to interpret information and turn it into actionable next steps
- Must be self-motivated, proactive, a clear communicator, highly organized, detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
Terms
- Candidates must be able to work from River North Chicago office at least 3 days a week.
- This position will be local to the Chicago area within a hybrid model of working in-office on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays and work from home on two days. Agency EA is located in the River North neighborhood of Chicago.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. Compensation is $17/hour.
- Credits: This is eligible for college credit, depending on university requirements.
- Duration: Spring - Summer Internship (start date flexible, schedule to be determined in consideration of any school requirements) - possibility of extension based on project needs.
