This role is for people trained to operate under ambiguity and make judgement calls that materially shape what gets built. If you want a clearly defined remit, stable scope, or a conventional analyst role, self-select out now.
Who should apply
- 3+ years in top-tier strategy consulting (MBB strongly preferred), investment banking, equity research, private markets, or equivalent decision-oriented environments
- Proven ability to build market sizing and financial models from scratch to support build or kill decisions
- Comfortable working directly with senior operators and defending a point of view without hiding behind slides
- Explicit interest in venture creation and zero-to-one work, not incremental optimisation
- Based in the Bay Area or willing to work hybrid (3 days onsite in Palo Alto)
Who should not apply
- Candidates optimising for work-life balance, predictability, or narrow scopes
- Corporate market analysts, functional analysts, or domain specialists
- Researchers who generate insight but don’t own decisions
What you’ll do
- Lead first-principles market and competitive analysis across multiple industries
- Build and own models used to greenlight or kill new venture ideas
- Pressure-test product concepts and investment theses with real numbers, not narratives
- Work directly with founders, product, and strategy leaders to turn analysis into action
- Run discovery and diligence in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Why this role
You’ll sit inside a small venture studio building AI companies from scratch. Your judgement directly determines which ideas become companies and which die early. Compensation reflects that level of ownership.
If this excites you, apply. If it makes you uncomfortable, that’s the filter doing its job.
