This Role In Summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer opening to join our / Central Engineering Team in Tulsa, OK.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
This role will focus on identifying and managing savings and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate and manage the acquisition of necessary capital equipment to ensure project success.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify saving projects for improvement in productivity, cost and efficiency
- Develop and implement process improvements and cost-reduction strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and safety.
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
- Participate in new equipment commissioning and support engineering trials.
- Ensuring that new manufacturing processes are flexible in design to accommodate long range new product cadence plans with the intent of minimizing future capital requirements.
- Leading projects and special assignments as required.
- Improving speed in which we deliver winning products to the marketplace.
- Work closely with NPI and Cooking manufacturing locations to define capital purchases
- Specifying through implementation and handoff of new processes to manufacturing operations
- Scheduling and leading meetings with vendors and Manufacturing Team
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineer experience
Preferred Skills And Experiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in process improvement methodologies (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, WCM Methodology.
- Familiarity with CAD software and data analysis tools (SAP, Google Sheets, Smartsheets, MES (Minibill), etc.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult. Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to work in a team environment. Excellent project management skills
- Knowledge of assembly line conveyance systems
- Experience in new product introductions, including the direct planning and acquisition of the associated capital equipment. Hands-on experience working in a heavily automated production environment
