A growing design-build General Contractor in the Atlanta area is seeking an experienced construction professional with an active Utility Manager license to join our expanding team. With a strong and stable pipeline of education projects, this role offers long-term opportunity and career growth within a collaborative design-build environment.
This position is open to experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, or senior-level construction professionals who bring strong utility infrastructure expertise and leadership experience within a General Contractor setting.
As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing utility components of ground-up education projects, including site development and infrastructure coordination. The ideal candidate understands the complexities of working on active campuses and public-sector projects while maintaining schedule, safety, and budget performance.
Oversee utility scope for ground-up education projects, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and related infrastructure
Ensure full compliance with Georgia regulations associated with Utility Manager licensure
Lead coordination between design teams, field operations, subcontractors, and municipal agencies
Manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractor performance
Collaborate within a design-build delivery model to proactively solve challenges
Maintain strict safety standards and quality control
Interface with school districts, inspectors, and local authorities
Active Utility Manager License (Georgia required)
Experience working for a General Contractor (design-build experience strongly preferred)
Background in ground-up commercial or institutional construction
Proven leadership experience as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar role
Experience with site development and underground utility coordination
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with public-sector or education projects is highly preferred
Strong backlog of K-12 and higher education and commercial projects throughout the Atlanta market
