The Opportunity
Signature Design Interior’s team is growing! With the upcoming retirement of a senior member of our decorating team, we are looking for a tech-savvy, self-starter with sales experience to join our award-winning firm. If you’re ready to start your second career in the decorating field—or you took a bit of time off and are ready to get back into the workforce—this is the perfect opportunity for you.
We provide on-the-job training, working side-by-side with our decorating team. As a Decorator in Training, you will be groomed for a full-time career. The hourly rate is $20 during on-the-job training, with performance and salary reviews held quarterly during the first year and semi-annually thereafter.
We require someone who lives locally in the DMV with open availability in their schedule to work days, evenings, and occasionally on the weekend. Hours will average 20 per week to start, with a range of 10 to 40 hours depending on project needs. This is not a REMOTE position.
What You’ll Do
- Client Engagement: Use your sales background to connect with clients, research products, and help "sell" the design vision.
- Design Support: Pull decorating materials for presentations, create floor plans, and source unique items.
- Creative Presentation: Prepare and edit compelling PowerPoint presentations and perform essential administrative functions.
- Grow: Contribute your drive and "eye" to a firm known for turnkey, purposeful designs.
Requirements
- Sales Background: Proven experience in sales or client-facing roles is a must.
- Personality: Must be outgoing, personable, and professional.
- Tech-Savvy: Excellent computer skills (particularly PowerPoint and Word) and proficient with a smartphone.
- Reliability: Personal and reliable transportation is essential.
- Flexibility: Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain a flexible schedule.
