Position Summary
The Email & Marketing Specialist supports the execution of events and marketing initiatives across the Tampa Bay Times and its affiliates. Reporting to the Event Production & Marketing Manager, this hands-on role manages logistics, content creation, sponsor deliverables, and administrative tasks. On-site event presence is required, including setup, teardown, and active management.
Responsibilities
- Plan and support events, including logistics, vendor coordination, setup, and teardown
- Maintain and organize event timelines, communications, and materials
- Create content for email campaigns, social media, press releases, and marketing collateral
- Schedule and publish marketing content across platforms consistently
- Assist with graphic assets, working with designers or templates to produce on-brand materials
- Track and report on event and marketing performance, including email and social campaigns
- Maintain donor management and internal systems to ensure accurate records and workflows
- Support budget tracking, invoicing, and vendor communications
- Collaborate with internal teams (editorial, philanthropy, sponsorship) to align initiatives
- Proofread and quality-check all communications to maintain accuracy and brand standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, PR, event management, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, events, communications, or similar roles (internships included)
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with attention to detail
- Experience with email marketing tools, social media platforms, and event management software
- Strong organizational and project management skills with consistent follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of marketing analytics and using data to inform decisions
- Experience supporting events, sponsor deliverables, or multi-team projects is a plus
