Role Overview
This role is for a visual storyteller. You are a photographer or videographer first. You instinctively understand light, texture, movement, and atmosphere. You care about framing, pacing, and the feeling a shot leaves behind. You will support client shoots and Herb’s internal content by capturing intentional, elevated visual assets. A passion for cannabis culture is a plus. A passion for storytelling is essential.
Time Commitment: Approximately 15 - 20 hours per week. Candidates should ideally be available during Eastern Time business hours, unless otherwise specified based on operational needs.
Compensation: $22/hour
Core Responsibilities
- Assist on client shoots, both studio and lifestyle
- Capture behind-the-scenes content when appropriate
- Shoot supplemental photo and video content as directed
- Ensure footage is steady, well-lit, and compositionally strong
- Think in sequences, not just single shots
- Maintain organized file naming and folder structure

- Interiors
- Nature, 'stoners know a spot' energy

Social Media Assistance
- Capture content formatted for Instagram and X
- Assist with posting when directed
- Monitor comments and flag sensitive or high-risk engagement
- Surface engagement spikes and notable reactions
- Identify which visuals resonate most with the audience
Trend & Culture Awareness
- Stay current on visual and editing trends
- Track short-form video pacing shifts
- Monitor emerging creators with strong aesthetics
- Share 2 to 3 trend insights weekly
