Overview:
The role will sit within the Equities Investment organization within Allspring, with a primary focus on supporting the maintenance, development, and growth of a group of Equity and Multi-Asset teams.
The Portfolio Specialist Associate supports the development of relationships and the building of mindshare with the sales teams across the whole Allspring Distribution platform. This entails providing support to client servicing efforts and working with internal partners to grow our business. The Portfolio Specialist Associate will focus on building effective communication including portfolio commentary, market insights, thought leadership, client reporting, and marketing collateral. Over time, the Portfolio Specialist Associate role has the potential to grow towards working with external clients and prospects, which could include a level of business travel.
The Portfolio Specialist Associate also serves as an internal and external subject matter expert about strategies managed by the various teams we support. The Portfolio Specialist Associate will participate in investment process meetings with portfolio managers and research analysts to demonstrate knowledge of the rationale behind the portfolios' positioning, outlook and risk. We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate closely with team leadership to set and achieve business priorities
- Serve as a liaison between client-facing teams and the investment team
- Develop expert level product knowledge to clearly articulate and market portfolio strategies to clients and prospects both inside and outside of Allspring
- Work with internal teams to meet deadlines and deliverables related to business needs team
- Support Client & Consultant Relations Directors and Sales team in investment team/portfolio-specific meetings by participating in calls, on-sites, attending client meetings when necessary
- Play a key role in the completion of RFP submissions, client and consultant questionnaires, and product databases
- Develop strong skills with various technology systems (Bloomberg, Y-Charts, APX, AlphaSense) used to drive effective communication about our strategies
- Contribute to team investment narratives, pitch books, thought leadership, market views and research
- Participate in promoting the team’s capabilities and products through writing and overseeing relevant and interesting research and positioning papers/support material
- Assist in directing the business in the most commercially appealing direction and inform/develop future generations of products and vehicles

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- 0-3 years’ experience in a similar role or a distribution role with a desire to move into a more technical role
- Top communication, interpersonal and presentations skills (written and verbal)
- Working knowledge across distribution channels including intermediary, institutional, consultant, DCIO, subadvisory and platforms
- Strong skills with technology and application tools provided by Allspring (MS Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA Charter holder or candidate
- Strong investment management experience with a focus on equities
- Proven experience and ability to understand portfolio construction and investment risk management
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong skills with portfolio related technology tools and platforms
- Sense of urgency in responding to in-bound requests to assist with internal partners and external clients
Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
