The
Mechanical Engineer is in charge of the design, development, and validation of mechanical components and systems. This role involves leading the design process, managing projects, and ensuring that products meet technical standards and business objectives throughout all stages of development.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems, including CAD design, benchmarking, and design reviews.
- Manage product development projects, including issue resolution, project planning, and documentation.
- Assist with business projects by developing ideas, writing proposals, and evaluating suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with technical standards during prototype builds and evaluate product performance.
- Study other companies to find ways to enhance our business and continue to grow.
- Document product specifications, drawings, and modeling as needed.
- Analyze market potential for new products and develop business cases.
- Apply APQP principles and PPAP deliverables to ensure successful component development.
- Diagnose system integration issues and develop solutions.
- Lead system compatibility reviews, create Bills of Materials (BoMs), and develop assembly instructions.
- Meet engineering targets for quality, cost, timing, and performance, and ensure effective design reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Solid skills in CAD design, project management, and technical problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, tackle complex issues, and drive improvements.
- Experience with product development processes, including APQP and PPAP.
- Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in analyzing market trends and developing business strategies.
