Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis is a leading global communications agency built to navigate the complexities of a hyper-connected world. We represent the icons and innovators shaping culture—from global heritage corporations and high-growth tech startups to the non-profits, creative legends, and visionary founders who define the global discourse.
Our expertise spans the full cultural spectrum. We operate at the intersection of entertainment, social impact, corporate reputation, and consumer lifestyle, executing seamlessly across traditional media, social-first outlets, brand partnerships, and influencer ecosystems. Whether we are navigating complex crisis management, elevating advocacy campaigns, or launching global consumer brands, we are storytellers at our core.
You may notice our digital presence is purposefully understated. While our clients are global household names, we believe the best work happens with the spotlight stays firmly on those we represent. We fly under the radar by design - preferring to let our campaigns, and our results, speak for themselves.
If you're driven, intentional, and ready to do good, we're ready for you!
Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis has an immediate opening for a high-energy, culturally-connected
Assistant to join our Events & Entertainment team. This role is the essential foundation of our entertainment practice. We are looking for someone who has a clear understanding of the entertainment PR arena and a genuine passion for the business of storytelling.
As an Assistant, you will support a diverse roster of clients from major awards shows and music festivals to A-list talent and film/TV projects. We teach our Assistants the skills they need to become the next generation of entertainment publicists; in return, we expect you to bring an entrepreneurial spirit, emotional maturity, and a commitment to excellence from day one.
The Role
- Entertainment Industry Learning: Exhibit a relentless interest in soaking up the ins and outs of entertainment publicity. You will learn how integrated communications—from talent and social to media relations—drive successful launches and sustain long-term brand equity.
- Media Research and List Management: Own the lists. You will build and maintain meticulous media lists across entertainment trades, national news, and lifestyle outlets. You ensure our databases are accurate, current, and strategically categorized.
- Cultural Intelligence: Act as the team’s radar. Monitor news cycles and social media to flag pop culture moments, competitor updates, and breaking industry news for our clients.
- Administrative Foundation: Support the health of various accounts by managing the backend essentials: developing agendas, meeting recaps, activity reports, and budget trackers.
- Logistical Support: Provide critical support for client meetings and events, including scheduling, RSVP management, and occasionally providing on-site staffing for premieres, screenings, and press junkets.
- Professional Ambassadorship: As a key point of contact for guests and vendors, you will greet visitors and manage light office duties (such as preparing conference rooms or the rooftop for meetings) with a professional, courteous, and inclusive demeanor.
- Relationship Driven: You recognize that we are a people business. You lead by example in how you treat your co-workers, partners, and the media—prioritizing trust and integrity in every interaction.
Who You Are
- The Emerging Professional: You have roughly 1 year of experience in marketing, entertainment, or PR. You are ready to exhibit the behaviors of a successful communications professional.
- High EQ: Even if this is your first professional role, you demonstrate emotional maturity. You can read the room, maintain a calm demeanor under pressure, and communicate effectively with senior staff.
- A Strong Writer: You are fast, persuasive, and detail-oriented. You can take complex notes and turn them into a concise, clear recap, pitch, or industry trend report.
- Exceptionally Organized: You have an eagle eye for detail and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously without letting a single detail slip.
- Eager and Collaborative: You love a good brainstorm, you are inclusive of others, and you are ready to build your network within the entertainment industry.
- Driven to Over-Deliver: You take genuine pride in your work and are willing to work select evenings and weekends when a project or event requires extra support.
