Engineering & Construction Project Analyst

An established energy infrastructure company is seeking an Engineering & Construction Project Analyst to support financial management across transmission and substation capital projects. This role works closely with the project management, accounting, and finance teams to monitor project costs, track financial performance, and support forecasting activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor project costs and track expenditures against approved budgets
Develop and maintain accrual and cash-based cost forecasts for multiple active projects
Support the review and processing of purchase orders, invoices, and change orders
Assist with estimate-at-completion (EAC) analysis and financial performance reporting
Participate in monthly project financial reviews with accounting and finance teams
Track project commitments, actual costs, and overall project financial status
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure accurate invoicing and cost forecasting
Support project setup and cost tracking within the company's ERP system
Assist with project closeout activities, including fixed asset documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in project cost analysis, project controls, or cost accounting
Experience supporting capital projects in construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure
Strong understanding of cost forecasting, accruals, and project financial tracking
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional project teams
