Job Title: AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer
Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Location: In-Office Grand Rapids, MI
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil 3D CAD Designer to join our team in-office. You will be responsible for creating precise Civil 3D models and detailed construction drawings for a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including site development, grading, and utility systems. This role requires daily collaboration with our engineering and surveying teams to ensure all designs meet regulatory standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Civil Modeling: Develop and manage complex 3D surface models, pipe networks, and corridors using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Plan Production: Prepare comprehensive construction document sets, including site plans, grading and drainage plans, erosion control, and plan and profile sheets.
- Quantity Analysis: Perform earthwork volume calculations (cut/fill) and surface analyses.
- Data Integration: Process and integrate topographic survey data, LiDAR scans, and point clouds into existing site models.
- Standards Compliance: Maintain and apply company CAD standards and industry codes to all project deliverables.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve design conflicts and meet project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Drafting/Design or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of professional experience using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D in a civil engineering or land development setting.
- Software Skills: Mastery of Civil 3D tools (surfaces, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, pressure pipe networks and data shortcuts).
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of civil engineering basics, including coordinate systems, topographical data, and construction materials.
