JOB SUMMARY
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all inventory control activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across warehouse and production support operations. This role provides direct supervision to inventory and warehouse personnel while maintaining hands-on involvement in daily inventory processes.
The Inventory Supervisor owns inventory accuracy, material flow, and discrepancy resolution through effective use of Epicor ERP, RF scanning technology, and analytical reporting tools. This position partners closely with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Finance to ensure inventory levels align with operational requirements and customer demand.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead, train, and mentor inventory and warehouse team members to ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Plan, assign, and prioritize daily work to meet operational demands and service expectations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review KPIs, address issues, and promote continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support corrective actions in coordination with leadership and HR.
- Serve as backup inventory or warehouse leadership during absences or peak operational periods.
- Inventory Control & Accuracy
- Own inventory accuracy across all locations through cycle counting programs, ABC classification, variance analysis, and annual physical inventory execution.
- Oversee all inventory transactions, including receipts, put-aways, transfers, work order issues, returns, and shipments.
- Review and approve inventory adjustments, ensuring proper documentation and root cause investigation.
- Maintain and optimize inventory control settings such as min/max levels, reorder points, safety stock, and scrap factors.
- Systems, Analysis & Reporting
- Utilize Epicor ERP and Excel to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and analyze inventory reports, dashboards, and KPIs related to accuracy, usage, shortages, and excess.
- Identify inventory trends and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
- Support forecasting and replenishment planning through analysis of material usage, lead times, and demand patterns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Production, Procurement, Sales, and Finance to ensure material availability and alignment with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Review work orders and job travelers to verify material accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Represent the inventory function in cross-departmental meetings as a subject matter expert.
Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Prepare for and support internal and external audits, including ISO and inventory audits.
- Develop, document, and maintain SOPs and training materials for inventory and warehouse operations.
- Lead inventory-related continuous improvement initiatives focused on accuracy, space utilization, material flow, and efficiency.
- Implement loss mitigation strategies to minimize shrinkage and improve inventory integrity.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Utilize precision measurement tools (scales, tape measures, calipers) to confirm part specifications and order accuracy.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as the lead for inventory and order fulfillment support.
- Demonstrate adaptability by assisting in other operational areas as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- 3–5+ years of inventory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- 1–3 years of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- ERP experience required (Epicor preferred).

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Comfortable working hands-on while supervising and leading others.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
- Continuous standing and/or walking.
- Overtime & weekend availability; On Call Program Mandatory.
- Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
- Good eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
