We’re seeking a Digital Content & Merchandising Specialist to join our creative team, helping shape our digital presence, elevate the e-commerce experience, and collaborate across creative and marketing.
You’ll make a direct impact in a collaborative, design-driven environment, with opportunities to grow and help scale our e-commerce creative team.
Position Summary
The Digital Content & Merchandising Specialist is responsible for creating compelling product and brand content while ensuring our e-commerce site and digital advertising is engaging, easy to navigate, and optimized for conversion. This role is about storytelling and shaping how potential and existing customers experience our brand online. You will write and edit product copy, manage on-site content, and merchandise collections across the website to support launches, seasonal stories, and sales performance.
This position will be reported directly to Creative Director
Responsibilities
Content & Copywriting
- Write clear, engaging, and on-brand product descriptions, collection narratives, and on-site messaging from an understanding and knowledge of what works in a digital menswear and womenswear space.
- In conjunction with the Creative Director and Marketing, maintain a creative calendar with attention to time allocation and planned events as well as upkeep the marketing Communications Calendar which tracks promotions and year over year digital events.
- Maintain brand voice across all on-site and digital content, while working closely with catalog and product copywriter.
- Develop strong and social media, triggered email campaigns, digital advertising and compelling digital-first copy and campaign concepts for prospecting new customers, targeting specific demographics and reinforcing a consistent impression for existing customers to buy.
- Collaborate with design teams to align copy with campaigns, emails, and social launches, including storyboarding or mapping out campaign concepts.
- Edit and optimize existing copy for clarity, consistency, SEO, and conversion.
E-Commerce Merchandising
- Manage product setup and maintenance, including titles, descriptions, pricing, imagery, and categorization.
- Merchandise collections, product grids, and landing pages to support seasonal
- Stories, promotions, and new launches.
- Monitor site performance and adjust product placement to improve engagement and sales.
- Ensure accuracy and visual consistency across the site.
- Website Merchandising and management.
- Coordinate with design to maintain homepage and landing page messaging.
- Maintain site navigation, filters, and taxonomy to improve user experience.
- QA content and product pages and customer feedback to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Coordinate with developers or platform support when needed.
- Use basic analytics and performance data to inform content and merchandising decisions.
- Support SEO best practices across product pages and on-site content.
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion through copy, layout, or product presentation.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Preferred.
Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in e-commerce, digital content, merchandising, or copywriting, with at least 5 years of experience within fashion, apparel, or consumer lifestyle brands.
Knowledge:
- Strong writing and editing skills with a clear understanding of brand voice.
- Experience working across both men’s and women’s apparel.
- Strong visual and merchandising instincts within fashion or lifestyle retail.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices, analytics tools, and A/B testing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working extended hours during sales-critical periods (e.g., Black Friday, Holiday, and Gift-Giving seasons), including occasional evenings and weekends.
Software:
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms.
- Basic understanding of CMS platforms, HTML, and image editing tools.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
Other
- Strong team player, contributing to a positive working environment; exceptional oral and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Flexibility to work 8am-5pm PST, M-F, with additional availability to accommodate deadlines/time zone differences; occasional travel as needed for business.
- Ability to lift, bend, and move items up to 30 lbs. in weight, sit for extended periods, operate a computer, and communicate effectively. The company may revise job functions at any time; Carbon2Cobalt is an “at-will” employer.
Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $72,000 to $76,000
Pay: $72,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
