Launched in 2014 by former philosophy professor David Barnett, PopSockets is a global digital-lifestyle company that sells empowering, fun, and expressive products that improve people’s digital lives. PopSockets has sold close to 300 million of its iconic phone grips in 75 countries and now has an expanding ecosystem of related products, including phone cases, wallets, mounts, batteries, and chargers.
Our mission is to empower enhanced mobile functionality, self-expression, and authentic human connection. We imagine an Eternal Positivity Machine that sparks joy, creativity, and meaningful relationships. We bring this vision to life by upholding the highest standards in materials, packaging, logistics, and design—while ensuring our supply chain and labor practices remain ethical, responsible, and transparent.
In 2021, PopSockets was honored as one of Fast Company’s World's Most Innovative Companies.
PopSockets is looking for a talented, camera-confident content creator to join our social media team on a part-time contract basis. You'll play a hands-on role in bringing our brand to life across our owned social channels — conceptualizing, filming, and editing content that's scroll-stopping, on-brand, and built for real engagement.
You'll work closely with our social team and partner directly with PopSockets' Founder and Head of TikTok on content creation, community engagement, and testing new formats — a unique opportunity to co-create with the person who built the brand.
This is a creative role for someone who thrives in front of and behind the camera, understands the nuances of each platform, and can adapt their content style to speak to different consumers — from a tech-savvy Solutionist to a style-forward trend chaser.
What You'll Do
- Concept, shoot, and edit short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram (Feed, Reels, Stories), and emerging platforms and formats — always phone-first, always platform-native
- Appear on camera as a subject or host when content calls for it — confidently and authentically representing the PopSockets brand
- Partner with our social team or Founder to align content with campaign briefs, product launches, and brand moments — and bring your own creative ideas to every collaboration
- Contribute to testing new content formats across platforms, including short-form video formats, interactive content, and whatever comes next — with a genuine curiosity for what performs and why
- Manage your own production timeline and deliver assets on deadline
- Stay plugged into social trends and proactively bring fresh ideas to the table
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience creating content across TikTok and Instagram — a portfolio or active channels are a must
- Strong video production and editing skills (we love to see what you can do with CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or whatever's in your toolkit)
- Comfortable and confident on camera — you don't need to be a performer, but you should feel natural in front of a lens
- A sharp eye for aesthetics and storytelling — you know what looks good and what performs
- Chameleon content qualities: you can adapt your style to speak to different consumer types — sometimes pragmatic and tech-forward, sometimes style-led and trend-aware
- Ability to work independently, take creative direction from a brief, and turn feedback around quickly
- Strong communication and self-management skills — you're reliable, responsive, and easy to collaborate with remotely
Nice to Have
- Experience with lifestyle, product, or accessory content; familiarity with PopSockets as a brand
- Your own filming equipment (camera/phone, lighting, stabilizer, etc.)
- A following or engaged audience of your own — not required, but always interesting
- Familiarity with social analytics and what makes content perform
$25 - $35 an hour
