Role Overview
Urban Umbrella is seeking a creative and motivated Engineering or Architecture graduate to join the design team in our New York City office. This individual will report directly to the Head of Product and will assist in job design, job execution, and product management. Additionally, the individual will create renderings to assist the sales and project management teams in communicating effectively with clients.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist in the design of Urban Umbrella sidewalk shed solutions.
● Create renderings to support both the sales and design processes.
● Supervise job sites as needed to ensure design and safety standards are met.
● Design projects based on Urban Umbrella’s safety and aesthetic parameters.
● Work with multiple departments to successfully design projects, manage rendering creation, and set your own schedule.
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.
● Proficiency with any CAD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SketchUp, or Rhino.
● Willingness to take on responsibilities both in the field and in the office.
● Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
● Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
● Interest in project management, construction operations, or urban design.
● Bi-lingual (English & Spanish preferred)
● Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
● Proficiency in Rhino Modeling Software.
● Understanding of structural systems.
● Understanding of sidewalk shed code.
