KOCOWA is seeking a Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist, based in Los Angeles, CA, to support the Marketing team across social, email, and lifecycle channels. This role goes beyond content publishing, it sits at the intersection of audience growth, customer retention, and data-driven engagement.
The ideal candidate is creative, analytically minded, and experienced in managing full-funnel marketing efforts across social media, email campaigns, and in-app messaging. They should understand the targeted audience, creating persuasive content that strikes a chord with the intended audience. They should be confident in owning, presenting, and reporting on metrics and other established marketing KPIs. They should be able to work quickly and efficiently with a global cross-functional team to create strategic and holistic marketing campaigns.
About the Role
Social Media & Community
Creates and executes social media campaigns, content ideation, asset creation, and editorial calendar management with the goal of growing KOCOWA's brand presence and subscriber base across Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok. Owns community management across all channels and manages the YouTube account. Uses Sprout Social for scheduling, social listening, and influencer/partnership lead generation. Cultivates direct relationships with influencers and marketing partners on social channels. Periodically collaborates with agencies and video editors to produce social assets.
Email Marketing
Develops and executes email marketing campaigns targeting distinct customer segments, from free trial users and lapsed subscribers to active and high-value accounts. Builds and manages automated email flows covering acquisition, onboarding, re-engagement, and retention. Partners with the broader marketing team to align email strategy with promotional calendars, content launches, and subscription growth goals. Manages segmentation logic, A/B testing, and performance reporting across open rate, click-through, conversion, and churn-related KPIs. Works cross-functionally with global teams to ensure email campaigns reflect global brand consistency while resonating with regional audiences.
Lifecycle & In-App Messaging (Pop-Ups)
Designs and manages in-app messaging campaigns, including triggered pop-ups and banners, that guide users through key lifecycle moments such as onboarding, feature discovery, subscription upsell, and win-back. Develops segmentation and targeting logic to ensure the right message reaches the right user at the right moment, reducing churn and increasing LTV. Collaborates with product and engineering teams to define trigger conditions, message timing, and audience rules. Analyzes behavioral data to identify drop-off points in the user journey and crafts messaging interventions that drive conversion and retention.
Cross-Channel Reporting
Collects and analyzes customer behavior data across social, email, and in-app channels to produce comprehensive performance reports. Tracks and reports on platform-specific KPIs and cross-channel metrics including subscription conversion, engagement rates, churn, and LTV. Monitors competitor activity and stays current on best practices and trends across all managed channels. Supports company launches and announcements with coordinated cross-channel creative executions.
Relevant Experience
· 2+ years of experience in digital marketing spanning social media, email marketing, and/or lifecycle or CRM-driven campaigns.
· Prior experience at an agency, entertainment company, or streaming platform is strongly preferred, with specific hands-on experience managing YouTube and other social channels.
· Demonstrated ability to build and manage customer segments and understand the logic behind behavioral triggers, lifecycle stages, and retention strategy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, positive and collaborative personality, and great attention to detail.
· Critical thinker and problem-solving skills, with ability to multitask.
· Proficiency required in: Sprout Social, Google Marketing Suite, Appsflyer, CMS and CRM systems, email marketing platforms (e.g. Brevo, Klaviyo, Braze, or equivalent), in-app messaging or lifecycle tools (e.g. Braze or equivalent), Microsoft Office, and project management tools (Confluence, Jira).
· Medium to advanced editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
· Data-driven mindset with the ability to report on SEO, web traffic, email, and social KPIs.
· Connected to Korean Entertainment Pop Culture and Streaming TV, with a pulse on the trends and new viral phenomena.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field.
· Not Required, but nice to have: Fluent in Korean and English or Fluent in Spanish and English.
Salary range: $60,000 - $75,000
