Job Description
We are seeking an impeccably organized accountant to support the Controller in day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, familiar with accounting software and workflows, and comfortable working independently on tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Support the A/R function by recording payments, validating deductions and creating monthly consolidated invoices for eCommerce channels
- Verify A/P entries and prepare cash disbursement schedule for Controller review
- Coordinate with Operations to complete monthly inventory reconciliation, investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes
- Prepare monthly bank and asset account reconciliations
- Maintain prepaid and accrued expenses schedules and draft monthly journal entries for Controller review
- Assemble quarterly and annual sales tax reports and aide in state nexus review and compliance
- Assist with annual audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Review corporate card expense reports to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies
Requirements
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum one year accounting experience preferred, CPG companies a plus
- Knowledge of accounting software, QuickBooks Online a plus
- Skilled using MS Excel and Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table)
- Great collaborator and team player
- Quick learner and comfortable with technology
Compensation
$65,000 - $75,000 salary based on experience, plus discretionary bonus opportunities available; benefits offered include: Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k
