EEC Solutions is looking for an Interior Design Assistant to support a possible upcoming contract at VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Long Beach, CA.

Position Description
The Interior Design Assistant supports the contracted Interior Designer and VA Interior Designer in executing design services for major construction activations at VALBHS. Responsibilities include AutoCAD design support, procurement package production, resource library maintenance, installation oversight, and stakeholder coordination under the direction of the VA Supervisory Interior Designer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the contracted Interior Designer and VA Interior Designer to create and execute design services for varied healthcare spaces.
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD FF&E plan layers; review architectural plans for VA TIL compliance.
- Produce procurement packages including SOW, specifications, IGCEs, bid sheets, and budgets.
- Assist with financial management, vendor communication, and delivery/installation schedule coordination.
- Maintain Interior Design Resource Library including drawings, plans, specification documents, and project binders.
- Review wayfinding signage, furniture, and artwork installation plans; direct installation crews without supervision.
- Identify and create punch lists; coordinate completion with dealers and installers.
- Assist with activation project schedule creation and reporting to the activations team.
- Record meeting notes and maintain design collateral from stakeholder collaborative meetings.
- Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, and NFPA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred per SP5 standard); or 810 years of relevant experience.
- 810 years of relevant interior design experience in healthcare or institutional environments.
- Candidates must provide resume and/or degree documentation per SP5 standard.
- Candidates must demonstrate AutoCAD and healthcare/institutional design experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Patient Centered Care in healthcare. AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required. Microsoft Project and Revit beneficial.
- NCIDQ, PMP, EDAC, and/or LEED preferred.
