Position Summary:
The Junior Designer supports the Interior Design team in executing residential design projects from concept through completion. This role focuses on assisting with design development, client presentations, space planning, and project coordination. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about luxury interior design, with a strong desire to learn and grow within the industry.
Position Expectations:
- Support the Senior Interior Designer in all phases of interior design projects
- Assist in creating design concepts, mood boards, and client presentations
- Contribute to maintaining Hive Collective’s design aesthetic and brand standards
- Participate in client meetings, consultations, and site visits alongside the Senior Designer
- Assist with measuring spaces and developing floor plans using AutoCAD or similar software
- Support space planning, furniture layouts, and product selections
- Source materials, finishes, furnishings, and décor that align with project goals
- Help prepare and organize design presentations, samples, and client deliverables
- Maintain and update project documentation, including client spreadsheets and specifications
- Assist with vendor communication, order tracking, and project coordination
- Help manage the design studio resource library (fabrics, finishes, samples, etc.)
- Stay current with design trends, social media, and the luxury interior design market
- Represent Hive Collective with professionalism in all client and team interactions
- Provide support on installations and styling as needed
- Remain flexible and responsive to the needs of the team and business

Requirements:
What Your Background / Experience Should Look Like:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, or a related field
- 0–3 years of professional interior design experience (internships count)
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or other design tools is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A keen eye for design, detail, and aesthetics
- Passion for luxury interiors, décor, and styling
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members
- Interest in client-facing work and developing presentation skills
- Knowledge of current design trends and social media platforms is a plus
