The impact you'll makeThe Manager, IT Publisher Technology & Vendor Relations is responsible for overseeing the deployment, integration, and optimal utilization of major publisher technologies within the organization, including Microsoft, AWS, SAP, Siemens, and others as required. This role serves as the primary interface between IT and procurement teams, acting as a negotiation partner to secure favorable terms and advising IT leadership on strategic technology leverage to support business objectives.
This position typically reports to the Sr Director of GIS Business Operations and may require occasional travel to Lam business sites, conferences, or other business locations.
What you'll do- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of key enterprise technologies from leading publishers such as Microsoft, AWS, Infosys, SAP, and Siemens.
- Ensure these platforms are optimally integrated to meet organizational objectives.
- Serve as the principal negotiation partner with Procurement for technology contracts, licensing, renewals, and vendor management, in coordination with senior IT leadership.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic technology vendors and partners.
- Advise IT leadership on best practices for leveraging publisher technologies to drive organizational efficiency, security, and innovation.
- Monitor technology trends and assess their impact on the organization's IT strategy.
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved technology utilization.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to IT staff regarding publisher technology platforms and vendor interactions.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management on vendor performance, technology return on investment (ROI), and strategic recommendations.
- Manage budgeting, baseline setting, and financial forecasting activities, including renewals, in close collaboration with Finance.
- Update financial forecasts to reflect actual and projected true-up results.
- Support true-up and other contract renewal activities, including cross-functional information gathering and renewal or true-up assessments.
- Partner with Software Lifecycle Management and Software Asset Management teams to identify opportunities for license reclamation, software version deprecation or upgrade targets, and to support the implementation of software metering capabilities.
Who we're looking for- Minimum of 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, SAP Certified Application Associate) are highly desirable.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in IT management, including at least 4 years overseeing major publisher technologies (Microsoft, AWS, SAP, Siemens).
- Proven track record in vendor negotiation, procurement collaboration, and technology strategy.
- Deep understanding of enterprise technology platforms, cloud infrastructure, ERP systems, and IT vendor management best practices.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and strategic planning skills.
- Experience advising senior leadership on technology decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present complex technology concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at multiple organizational levels.
Preferred qualifications- Prior experience in a large enterprise or multinational organization.
- A history of successful vendor negotiations resulting in cost savings or improved service levels.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT).
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives leveraging publisher technologies.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
