Our consultants are often brought in to solve the same challenges private equity firms address after an acquisition—but we work directly with business owners and leadership teams.

Position Overview
Our clients rely on our Strategy Managers to help them lead their companies to greater profitability and operational efficiency. In this role, you will quickly be trained to lead client engagements. Your insights and leadership will directly shape the outcomes of the clients with whom you work. The rest of the Compass team will serve as thought partners and support for you.
A consulting engagement might include:
- Growth strategy and market expansion
- Digital transformation and AI adoption
- Operational improvement and margin expansion
- Business turnarounds and cost optimization
- Organizational design and leadership development
- Preparing companies for private equity investment or sale
Travel requirements are minimal (<10%).
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside senior consultants to develop and refine Compass Equity’s consulting playbook
- Contribute strategic insight to solve client challenges
- Conduct financial analysis, market research, and operational diagnostics
- Support consulting engagements for founder-led businesses in the lower middle market
- Build analytical models and presentation materials used to guide executive decision-making
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to strategic recommendations
- Help implement initiatives designed to increase enterprise value
Candidate Profile
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Bring 12+ months of post-MBA experience at Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, or McKinsey & Company, with a strong preference for candidates who have already earned a post-MBA promotion
- Possess strong analytical skills and high emotional intelligence
- Are comfortable working directly with founders and senior executives
- Demonstrate leadership ability and the capacity to operate with increasing autonomy
- Thrive in environments requiring adaptability across industries and workstreams
Candidates with experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy will receive special consideration.
Compensation:
· Base Salary: $200,000
· Competitive Performance Bonus: based on individual and firm performance
