Sr Analyst, FP&A (Temporary)

About the role:
Type: Full Time Temporary (90 days)
Compensation: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Location: Remote
What to Expect:
The Senior Analyst, FP&A plays a key role in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis across the business. With a strong focus on supporting decision-making, this role is responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly results, building budgets and forecasts, developing financial models, and conducting scenario analysis. The Senior Analyst partners closely with key operational stakeholders, offering insights that drive strategic and financial outcomes. The position also contributes to the design and preparation of both internal and external financial reporting models.
Responsibilities:
Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Lead the development and preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range planning models.
- Support scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and other what-if models to guide financial decisions.
- Validate, challenge, and clearly explain key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends.
- Prepare and develop internal and external financial reporting packages and dashboards.
Reporting & Variance Analysis
- Analyze monthly results against forecast and budget, providing insightful commentary on variances and trends.
- Deliver concise and accurate reports to executive leadership with a focus on business impact.
- Continuously improve management reporting tools to increase clarity and efficiency.
Business Partnering & Decision Support
- Act as a finance business partner to designated operational teams, helping translate business needs into financial outcomes.
- Provide analysis to support strategic initiatives, productivity improvements, pricing, and capital investments.
- Assist management in decision-making by providing relevant, timely, and actionable financial data.
Model Development & Process Optimization
- Design, develop, and maintain complex financial models to support planning, forecasting, and ad hoc needs.
- Assess and challenge existing financial models and tools for accuracy, relevance, and improvement opportunities.
- Work cross-functionally to drive automation and process enhancements within FP&A and business workflows.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support board-level and investor reporting as needed.
- Research and synthesize operational and financial data to support insights and recommendations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required
- CPA or MBA a strong plus
Experience
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or accounting
- Strong track record of performance in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Prior experience partnering with business stakeholders and presenting financial insights
Skills & Attributes
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are required
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, NetSuite) preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a bias for action
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic business setting
