POSTION: Merchandiser
REPORING TO: National Account Executive
LOCATION: NYC Metro
POSITION SUMMARY:
The overall function of the John Hardy Merchandiser is to ensure the continued growth of John Hardy within key national account locations. You will facilitate all John Hardy sales strategies in-store and will provide ongoing support to store captains – providing in-store training, merchandising and event support. The Merchandiser is the liaison between accounts and the Account Executive and will build relationships with the store teams facilitating all John Hardy sales strategies in-store and provide ongoing support to store captains – through relationship building with store teams, providing in-store training support 3-4x a year, merchandising and event support.
ROLE SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel up to 70% to visit accounts:
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with store teams by understanding their focus and anticipating their needs
- Ensure locations are merchandised to John Hardy standards
- All backstock is out on floor, inventory is polished
- Educate sales teams on brand knowledge and selling techniques
- Engage with store leadership + stylist teams
- Establish John Hardy as a top jewelry brand in each location
- Negotiate and assist with floor moves to best floor locations
- Drive product productivity improvements
- Execute John Hardy team ad-hoc requests
- Attend trunk shows and events* to ensure successful to deliver regional sales targets and brand messaging. *Support on weekends /evenings when needed
Host 3X annual formal brand trainings at the account's locations:
- Visit all locations within the region in Feb, June & September and host formal brand training sessions to engage and inspire store teams in a formal setting
- Host brand events in select locations quarterly
- Support team in planning, clienteling and overall traffic driving efforts
- Merchandise product and support jewelry department in selling
- Host day of event
Administrative:
- Manage in-store visit schedule, book travel, schedule appointments and prepare pre-visit agenda’s
- Manage travel budget & expenses
- Conduct post-visit summaries and follow ups
- Attend weekly virtual check in with John Hardy team
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Intrinsically motivated luxury sales professional with 2+ years of industry experience
- Ability to understand client needs and provide support to yield business growth
- Organizational skills and team player
- Budget management
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Sales Skills and account management
- Proven track record in the achievement of sales results
- Structured and analytical thinker capable of developing sales strategies, effectively communicating them to retail partners, and driving them through to completion
- Energetic, authentic, collaborative, and humble; ability to develop a climate of enthusiasm, teamwork and cooperation among colleagues and partners
- Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 20lb boxes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/strong excel skills required
