Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering related field
- 2 or more years of professional engineering experience in a production environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical design engineering principles and industry practices
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and ability to perform tolerance analysis
- Minimum 1 year experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software
- Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists, and specifications
- Have the ability to contribute to investigative efforts and report status to interdisciplinary teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
Job Description
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide engineering support for the day-to-day production needs of the M270A2 program, working within and Integrated Product team, alongside other cross-functional partners to sustain production flow, resolve technical issues, and maintain configuration integrity. This role may require occasional travel and direct engagement with suppliers.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing engineering support to the M270 production line and resolving any technical issues with internal and external stakeholders
- Building and maintaining BOMs, creating and revising parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
- Coordinating with the IPT teams and internal and external stakeholders to ensure design excellence
- Coordinating design changes across cross-functional teams
- Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
- Identifying and implementing innovative design solutions for complex mechanical problems.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting production lines in a defense or aerospace industry
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and supplier engagement
- Familiarity with supplier support activities, including reviewing supplier documentation
- Previous MRB experience
- Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, machining, or mechanical assembly processes, relevant to vehicle systems
This position may require occasional travel to manufacturing sites or supplier location.

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
