JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Manager: Plans and manages a wide variety of capital projects for clients and is responsible for:
- Leading project teams, developing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, co-workers, professionals, end-users, and other project stakeholders
- Ensuring that through attention to detail and superb communication, clients are able to make informed decisions about their projects
- Managing multiple complex projects
- Contributing to and supporting the structural and strategic evolution of the firm in keeping with the goals of the business
- Ensuring consistent delivery of services to all constituents
- Contributing to continuous process improvement and integration of new ideas into the business.
- Developing new client relationships and business.
Proximity to Burlington/Chittenden County is required. PCI performs work throughout
Vermont and travel in a personal vehicle is required. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The day to day duties of a Project Manager at PCI varies widely from project to project, but some examples of duties include:
- Collaborate with other project team members as needed in the management of projects
- Identify potential conflicts/issues in internal processes and contribute to the improvement of those processes
- Implement internal process improvements with minimal disruption to ongoing operations and projects
- Provide client needs assessment, space programming review, space / building assessment
- Represent owners to building professionals including designers, engineers, lenders / funding entities, general contractors, trade contractors, suppliers, building inspectors, etc.
- Review permit requirements, assist with permit acquisition
- Maintain current information on client procurement policies
- Procure design / engineering services: Supervise and coordinate the services of design professionals as required
- Provide in-house budget estimating / budget assistance, assistance with value engineering
- Perform project planning, contractor pre-qualification, bid administration, contract administration, progress inspections, progress reports, general project oversight, contract close-out / commissioning
- Manage projects in a means congruent with our mission and vision, while supporting our business model
- Keep projects on schedule and on budget while achieving desired outcomes
- Develop and maintain thorough understanding of the financial reporting, ROI, added value initiatives and how it relates to the operation of the company
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients which last beyond any given project
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred. Other degrees in combination with experience will be considered.
2+ years of demonstrated capital project/construction management experience
2+ years of demonstrated leadership and/or management experience
Google Suite and Microsoft Office Proficiency required
Ability to read and thoroughly understand blueprints/specifications is required.
Experience using software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit, is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple large, small and/or complex projects
Ability to be self-directed, self-motivated, and goal orientated
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule
Though not required, experience in estimating and performing takeoffs is preferred
