Position Summary
This role is responsible for building relationships and developing business in a sub-set of accounts, while remaining opportunistic in the general market. This role will be calling on accounts on a daily and weekly basis, with the main objective to deliver against Key Performance Indicators. Create new placements, increase velocity in existing placements and foster new relationships with new accounts.
Market Execution (75%):
- Conduct daily and weekly account visits to gain new distribution, ensure appropriate shelf placement, and generate sales
- Manage alignment of execution with distributor counterparts
- Communicate and follow up with both customers and distributors
- Participate in key buyer meetings and business reviews for large regional accounts
- Participate in key survey periods (Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Winter holidays)
- Participate in key blitz or focus periods, ensuring accountability of objectives
- Execute key sponsorships and trade promotions in market
- Execute trainings, wine dinners, promo events, and customer training
Communication/Feedback Loop (10% of time)
- Participate in weekly/bi-weekly team calls
- Provide input into marketing/trade/commercial planning
- Share in-market feedback with marketing on best-in-class execution and competitive activity
- Communicate best practices and challenges related to national strategy in bi-weekly one-on-ones with manager
Distributor Engagement (15%):
- Lead sales engagement with distributors and market teams in sales region
- Build relationships with Sales Reps and District Managers influencing key accounts
- Host monthly happy hours and events with local teams to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships
- Attend and lead presentations at Distributor General Sales Meetings
- Represent Prometheus Beverage as the voice of the market within your territory
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passion for people and building relationships
- Minimum 2 Years of sales experience
- Familiarity with the local market and key accounts
- Demonstrated ability in customer management within specific territory
- Solid understanding of the three-tier distribution system
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and writing; ability to persuade and influence
- Solid Microsoft Office skills
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Ability to lift and move up to 55 lbs
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel via car, plane, or train as needed
- Must be at least 21 years of age
