Representative Role Overview
A leading middle-market investment bank, advisory firm, or corporate development team may seek a
Buy-Side M&A Analyst to support
acquisition strategy, target evaluation, and transaction execution. These roles are ideal for candidates seeking
hands-on buy-side deal experience, financial modeling, and strategic insights into corporate acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support buy-side M&A engagements, including target identification, valuation, and transaction analysis
- Build and maintain financial models for potential acquisition targets (3-statement projections, DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution analyses)
- Conduct industry research, competitive benchmarking, and company due diligence to evaluate strategic fit
- Prepare investment memoranda, internal presentations, and recommendation decks for senior management or investment committees
- Assist with data room management, due diligence coordination, and transaction execution
- Collaborate with senior bankers, corporate development teams, or private equity professionals to drive buy-side deals to completion
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related field
- Strong skills in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction analysis
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, consulting, audit, or FP&A is beneficial
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and common financial research tools
