One of our clients is seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst / Associate to join their growing Real Estate Private Equity investment team in New York. This role provides significant exposure to acquisitions, underwriting, due diligence, asset management, portfolio analysis, and investment decision-making across a diverse real estate portfolio and active transaction pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance sophisticated financial models for acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, and asset management initiatives.
- Analyze investment opportunities through cash flow modeling, underwriting, sensitivity and scenario analysis, and return metric calculations (IRR, Equity Multiple, Cash-on-Cash).
- Conduct comprehensive market, industry, and property-level research to support investment recommendations.
- Participate in due diligence, reviewing financial, operational, legal, market, and property-related information.
- Prepare investment committee memorandums, presentations, and supporting materials for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio performance and support ongoing asset management, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Partner closely with senior investment professionals on transaction execution, acquisitions, and portfolio management activities.
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating prospective investments through market analysis and financial assessment.
Required Qualifications
- 1–5 years of relevant experience in Real Estate Private Equity, Real Estate Investment Management, Acquisitions, Investment Banking, Valuation Advisory, Transaction Advisory, Corporate Finance, or similar analytical roles.
- Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and valuation capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Accounting, Business, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience underwriting commercial real estate across one or more asset classes (Multifamily, Industrial, Office, Retail, Hospitality, Mixed-Use).
- Exposure to acquisitions, development projects, asset management, capital markets, or structured transactions.
- Strong understanding of real estate investment principles, capital structures, and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated passion for real estate investing and capital markets.
