Responsibilities
· Ability to generate construction documents and reports.
· Assist with research and documentation related to local codes and permitting requirements.
· Apply specific municipality requirements toward the preparation of construction drawings and reports.
· Assist in the creation and technical preparation of all plans and reports, including due diligence investigations.
· May periodically attend progress meetings with clients, outside team members and contractors regarding project design, constraints, and clarifications, with a focus on saving time, money and problem solving.
· Ensure deadlines are met for all project phases.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
· E.I.T. Certification
· One to Four (1 - 4) years directly related work experience in civil/site design, preferably having worked on commercial projects, i.e. retail, office or industrial.
· Experience with:
o AutoCAD
o Civil 3D
o Applicable software applications such as water modeling and storm drainage programs
o Microsoft Word and Excel
· Use Civil 3D to meet specific municipal design requirements and standards, including:
o Design and manipulate surface models to assist in grading and drainage design.
o Generate earthwork estimates using surface models.
o Produce utility layouts.
o Plan and profile plan sets (storm water, sanitary sewer, water mains).
· “Self-starter” approach to working in a team environment.
· Ability to work independently on the technical aspects of projects.
