Role Description Our Design team is looking for a highly motivated intern to support with our multi-faceted design process. This is an opportunity to hit the ground running in a fun, fast-paced environment with many opportunities to learn and grow within the design field. The role will report to the broader Alexandra Grecco design team. The right candidate will have the opportunity to work from our corporate office in New York City’s Garment District two to three days a week.
As an integral member of the team, you will be tasked with:
- In-studio hands-on work
- Garment District sourcing and factory communication
- Hand- and machine- sewing, embroidery and other fabric manipulations
- Assisting with pinning and hand-sewing delicate hand-embroidery
- Assist designers in daily tasks
Qualifications
- Ability to cut in-house samples following pattern markings/grainlines/cutters must
- Strong hand- and machine-sewing required
- Positive, savvy, confident, eager to learn
- Keen eye for design, strong communication skills and garment construction knowledge
- Currently enrolled in a fashion design, textiles, or related design program, preferably in the third or fourth year of the program
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfort working in a hands-on studio environment, with a collaborative, learning-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with bridal or luxury apparel is preferred but not required.
