As an Environmental Compliance Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our projects by overseeing contractor implementation of environmental controls and mitigation measures. You will conduct daily field inspections, initiate corrective actions when necessary, and verify compliance with construction standards and contract-specific environmental requirements. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate compliance with ordinances, permits, erosion control requirements, stormwater management regulations, and related environmental codes through routine inspections of construction projects.
- Prepare clear, detailed inspection reports documenting adherence to approved plans, materials, and specifications.
- Oversee all aspects of inspection activities, ensuring alignment with quality control standards, environmental protection measures, and safety protocols.
- Investigate concerns, conduct follow‑up inspections, and document corrective actions.
- Maintain regular communication with contractors, engineers, field personnel, and State and Federal agencies.
- Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions; may occasionally work in elevated or confined areas and be exposed to humidity, fumes, airborne particles, electrical hazards, vibration, asphalt, concrete, and dust.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related field.
- One to three years of experience in environmental compliance inspections preferred.
- Construction experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and project management software; ability to learn new reporting tools as needed.
- Knowledge of State and local erosion control ordinances and related codes.
- Understanding of construction practices, materials, equipment, and project phases preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to staff, clients, and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret reports, blueprints, inspection slips, diagrams, specifications, codes, and architectural drawings.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
