POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sales Analyst will be responsible for compiling and analyzing sales and market data and providing valuable feedback and actionable insights to guide company promotional and sales activities for the sales team and customers. To be successful, incumbent must be able to analyze large amounts of data, accurately project sales trends, identify sales opportunities, and provide practical guidance to optimize sales strategies and increase market share. The ideal Sales Analyst will take the lead in developing opportunities to drive growth, and have a commercial mindset focused on sales principles.
Jelmar, LLC is a company that makes and distributes cleaning products in the US and internationally, and is headquartered in Skokie, IL just 10 miles north of downtown Chicago. Family owned and operated, Jelmar continues to develop new and innovative products, in both the prominent retail sector as well as the commercial/industrial sector under the well-known brands, CLR and TarnX. This position is primarily office based.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Compiling, analyzing, and reporting sales data.
· Monitoring and analyzing competitive activity, customer, and market trends.
· Providing actionable insights to guide the sales and marketing teams.
· Contributing to the development of sales plans and objectives.
· Monitoring and evaluating sales performance.
· Forecasting demand, revenue, and expenses.
· Determining sales potential and making recommendations.
· Alongside product manager, when asked by a sales lead, analyzing data (IRI) or insights to determine industry insights as they reflect on retailer programs.
· Serves as the point of contact for teams to ensure actions remain in synergy.
· Work alongside Sales Directors in defining data points relevant to the sales process and supporting customer needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Strong research and data analysis skills, particularly in sales.
· Experience with either AC Nielsen or IRI Circana data systems
· Proficiency in Office and CRM software.
· Understanding and ability to use Power BI
· Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
· Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
· Proficient in MS Office
· Strong organizational skills
· Excellent communication and people skills
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree required; business focused strongly preferred.
· 2+ years’ experience in a CPG analytical role.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office components including Advanced level experience with Excel.
