BMT Aerospace is a well-established and growing aerospace manufacturing machining company seeking NDT TEchnician Level II for our 1st Shift.This is a perfect opportunity for Quality Inspector with manufacturing experience in a low volume precision machining environment. Our clean and air conditioned facility is located in Fraser, Michigan.

Position Summary:
The NDT Level Tech II identify products that don’t meet quality standards. The role of a Quality Inspector is to use their observational skills to notice when a material, product part or finished product differs from the blueprints. The Quality Inspector quickly and efficiently assesses incoming products at their assigned stage of production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review manufacturing routers to assure job completion
- Request/Build gaging instruments
- Perform final dimensional/visual inspection Perform first article “Layout” inspection
- Process job close out Manufacturing/Engineering, Interface/Interact
- Generate & process nonconforming materials reports
- Conduct non-destructive testing on aerospace components and structures using assigned NDT techniques, following established procedures and quality standards.
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards, ensuring accurate test results.
- Analyse inspection data, identify defects or anomalies, and determine their severity based on established acceptance criteria.
- Accurately document inspection findings, including detailed reports with clear descriptions of defects, locations, and severity levels.
- Adhere to quality control procedures, maintaining proper documentation and reporting any discrepancies.
- Understand and apply relevant NDT codes, standards, and specifications related to the required method(s).
- May provide guidance and training to Level I technicians on NDT procedures and techniques.

Qualifications:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- 2-5 years’ experience in aerospace or automotive receiving / inspection is desirable
- Knowledge of NDT Testing materials.
- Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents and manuals
- Able to use micrometers and height gage
- Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
- High level of precision and accuracy in performing inspections and documenting findings
- Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations
- Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Dexterity, physical strength and physical stamina
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
