Overview
Sam Tell, an established industry leading commercial food service company is currently seeking a motivated, eager to learn Estimator. The position will initially require onsite training at our New York City office, with the opportunity to transition into a remote role thereafter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Lead Estimators with building estimates for the sales team for targeted completion with the goal to work independently on job assignments.
- Review design drawings and sales correspondence to perform accurate take-offs and cost analysis.
- Communicating with numerous departments internally and externally to help organize and effectively complete estimates in a timely manner.
- Utilizing email and phone skills to communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers during the estimating process.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously, delivering work on time and with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently after training while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as an Estimator.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the foodservice industry required!
- Ability to read and scale architectural drawings.
- Associates required; Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience in AutoQuotes required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience managing shifting priorities and tight timelines among multiple projects.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat and Estimating Software.
- Organizational skills, time management, problem solving, accountability, and attention to details are necessary.
- High Level of accountability, accuracy, and follow-through on assigned estimates.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently after training while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
