Job Overview
Reporting directly to the North America CFO and partnering closely with the General Manager, the Financial Controller will play a critical role at the intersection of finance, operations, systems, and strategy. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable in the boardroom and on the production floor, providing financial leadership, operational insight, and data-driven decision support. Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior finance leader and strategic business partner for the manufacturing operation.
- Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to improve profitability and business performance.
- Provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Lead all plant financial reporting, close processes, and compliance with US GAAP and corporate requirements.
- Develop dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting to drive accountability and informed decision-making.
- Oversee cost accounting, manufacturing costing, and variance analysis for materials, labor, yield, overhead, inventory, and production efficiency.
- Partner with operations to identify variance root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Drive margin improvement, waste reduction, cost savings, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management processes.
- Build financial models and business cases for capital investments, capacity expansion, and strategic projects.
- Establish and maintain internal controls, governance practices, compliance programs, and audit readiness.
- Manage financial reporting and compliance related to grants, tax abatements, incentives, and funding programs.
- Lead ERP implementation, reporting design, business intelligence, automation, and data analytics initiatives.
- Champion continuous improvement, AI adoption, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Build, develop, and lead the finance team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and standardized best practices across the business.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA/CMA designation and MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with food manufacturing or CPG experience strongly preferred.
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, inventory management, and manufacturing finance.
- Experience partnering with plant leadership, implementing financial controls, supporting audits, and leading ERP or business systems initiatives.
- Advanced Excel, financial modeling, ERP, and business intelligence skills (Power BI/Tableau), with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced growth environment.
