About the role
Engels Jewelry Company is hiring a part-time Content Manager.
You will plan, create, and publish social, website, and email content for a retail jewelry brand. The work includes captions, short-form video, product photos, blog posts, and weekly newsletters. You will also help with inventory photographs and edit images.
This role is a good fit if you already know how to write, shoot and edit product photos, and stay organized across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, website, and POS.
Key responsibilities
- Create social content for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and similar platforms: captions, short-form videos, stories, and graphics that match brand voice.
- Schedule and publish posts so campaigns, launches, and store events stay on a consistent cadence.
- Write and edit website blog posts: research topics, outline, draft, proofread, and format for readability and basic SEO.
- Build weekly email newsletters with strong subject lines, clean layouts, and clear calls to action.
- Photograph jewelry and other inventory (stock photos) with consistent lighting and composition so images are ready for the website, POS, social, and marketplaces.
- Edit and retouch stock photos (crop, color, background cleanup, resize) and keep a cohesive visual style.
- Monitor engagement and analytics (reach, clicks, saves, watch time), summarize results, and recommend improvements.
- Help plan content strategy: brainstorm ideas, maintain the content calendar, and support campaigns.
- Keep photo, template, caption, and link files organized so drafts are easy to find, approve, and reuse.
Required skills and qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to change tone by audience and channel.
- Working knowledge of WooCommerce, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and what tends to perform on each.
- Clear content writing and editing for captions, blogs, and marketing copy, with careful proofreading.
- Basic product photography plus comfort editing in Photoshop, Lightroom, Canva, or similar.
- Experience with email tools such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Constant Contact, or similar.
- Able to manage several recurring projects, track feedback, and hit weekly deadlines.
- Familiarity with jewelry terms, materials, styles, and trends so product content is accurate.
- Reliable schedule for part-time hours and ability to work at the Grandville store (2883 Wilson Ave SW).
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Later, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, or another scheduling tool, and a content calendar.
- Basic SEO: keyword-aware writing, stronger headlines, and readable on-page formatting.
- Comfort with analytics (platform insights, Google Analytics, UTM links) and simple performance reports.
- Ability to make simple graphics or templates from brand guidelines.
- Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field — or equivalent work experience. A current student status is not required.
Schedule and pay
Part-time, 10–15 hours per week. Hours can be a mix of in-store time for photography and inventory work, plus time for writing, editing, and scheduling.
Pay will be discussed with each candidate and may be hourly or a weekly stipend.
