General Overview of Responsibilities:
· Ensure all Marketing Activities are consistent and appropriately approved by the Owners of the Company for: Messaging/Content, Branding, Promotional Incentives
o Ensures that Marketing Endeavors follow appropriate Budgetary guidelines and track costs, accordingly,
o Responsible for coordinating and moving all Marketing Collateral Materials through the organization – particularly as it relates to ensuring that all Design changes, all Editorial Copy, and all Item number/UPC information is updated according to Requested changes by Owners
Specific Job Responsibilities:
· Scheduling & Coordination of Marketing Activities - Responsible for Keeping all Print Marketing Needs on Schedule, and will coordinate these needs with the various departments and functions, as follows:
o Coordinates all delivery and changes/updates to Print marketing materials in a timely manner – ensuring that the delivery of printed material meets required deadlines
o Will be responsible for “trafficking” the print collateral through all the functions and departments:
§ Ensuring that the Marketing/graphics team are apprised of; Sales focus/goal of collateral material, Product requirements/i.e. Item numbers/UPC, etc.…, deadlines
§ Will coordinate with the Editorial team on Marketing Copy for Print materials, and then coordinate with the Editorial Department to ensure that copy is proofed accordingly
o Accepts Editorial comments from Editorial team and incorporates these edits in a timely and effective manner,
§ Works closely with the entire Marketing team, Art, Editorial and Production to ensure that the deadlines are achieved and any change of deadline is communicated, accordingly to the Internal organization and the External Field Sales group
§ Brings competitive financial pricing for review and consideration of future promotions
§ Communicates well with Inventory / Manufacturing delivers and plans accordingly
§ Communicates with the Field Sales Organization when the Materials will be “available”
§ Communicates delivery of Print Material with Sales Organization so that they know and understand when the Print Promotional material is available for use and / or Promotion
· Company Events - Coordination of Company Events
o National Sales Meeting
o JG “Employee Appreciation Day”
o Holiday Party and Events
o Quarterly and/or periodic Sales Strategies Meetings
o Other Events, as necessary
· Advertising - Assists in creating the National Advertising plan used throughout the year which consists of: Publication Date(S), frequency, Pricing, etc…
o Assists in coordinating and laying all steps to achieve the final Print Advertising piece
o Ongoing communication with External Advertising personnel so that the Company can achieve best practices; most effective ads at the best prices
o Tracking sales/sell through data that relates to best products for advertising campaigns;
o Coordinates the flow of actual Ads through the organization, so that there is an ongoing review of the Print advertising versus the Competition – showing the effectiveness and providing any feedback in a timely and organized manner
o Responsible for doing an annual review of current Advertising versus Competition – i.e. Look of Ads / frequency / publication “Company versus Competition”
· Ongoing Review/Evaluation and Update to Owners and CFO of Print Collateral Promotional Pieces in inventory – showing the current level, the required demand – per history and / or future known reasons for the 6- and 12-month future cycles, and then provides a “suggested” re-order Quantity and Time-line for order to meet demand requirements
· Sales Presentations - Assists in preparing information that is useful for Sales Presentations; via PowerPoint and other media
o Gathers Sales feedback and provides the feedback in a form that is useful to all parties
o Works with the Marketing team to consistently update Industry information and Research
· Marketing Calendar - Responsible for providing input that updates the Marketing Calendar Needs – and distributing to the Marketing team in a consistent and timely manner
· Helps communicate when a New Product Print Marketing Material Needs Update, and communicates what the Field Sales organization Need is regarding the Product and the corresponding appropriate Print Material: For Example; Sell Sheets/Flyers, Particular Promotions – should it be e-mail blast, traditional mailing, catalog, board…
· Helps prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data that is used to assist in future marketing endeavors.
· Keeps promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphics marketing department; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
· Assists in supporting sales staff by providing data; market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information; relaying customer services requests.
· Researches competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintaining research databases.
o Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
o Trade Shows - Works with the Trade Show Coordinator to make sure that all aspects of Advertising and promotion are being met, assists Trade Show Coordinator to ensure that all show deliverables arrive in a timely and appropriate manner.
· Works with the Sales organization to create collateral and /or presentations to support the Trade Show
· Works with the Trade Show Coordinator and the CFO to maintain the Trade Show Budget and process
· Other projects, as necessary
