About us
Agri-tech Services is an independent farm management and consulting service that provides Integrated Pest Management (I.P.M.) services and bio-control systems for commercial clients.
Our scouts provide expert farm management based on our client’s needs. Our consultants collect the data and work as a team with the grower. Scouts analyze the data and apply specialized programs that allow our clients to achieve maximum crop production with a minimum of chemical inputs. These programs reduce grower costs and impact on the environment, while yielding the safest product for the consumer.
The I.P.M. programs rely on accurate identification of pests and timely application strategies based on economic thresholds. Utilizing the correct material, at the proper time, is vital for effective management and production. Materials can include traditional materials, organic materials, and biological programs. Agri-tech Services’ effective programs strive to protect crops from economic damage and maximize production while using the least amount of chemicals and resources.
During each scouting visit, consultants utilize real-time data to determine pest and disease pressures while developing customized strategies for spray applications or bio-control. Agri-tech consultants are trained to pinpoint solutions based the collected data.
We also distribute biological predators and parasites along with bumble bee pollination systems. We also do contract research work for agricultural materials. Our company has provided advice on the use and management of commercial agricultural land since 1984 with a main focus of advising clients on improved methods of agricultural production.
Our ultimate aim as an agricultural consultant company is to balance the commercial viability of agricultural land with sustainable development.
Agri-tech Services is owned by Gordon DeCou -- a biologist with 30+ years of consulting service and farm management including fruits, vegetables, ornamentals and greenhouses throughout the Eastern United States.
Our agricultural crop advisors and researchers evaluate how the environment impacts crops in order to help improve a farming operation's overall production. To do this, we conduct collect and analyze data and prepare reports based on our findings, as well as coordinate the operation of farming fields with the goal of determining the effects the environment has on crop yield, disease and growth patterns.
This is an outdoor job. Our team members walk between eight and twelve miles a day while scouting the fields. An ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to diligently record data for reports, and be willing to carry out physical tasks, sometimes in inclement weather.
